Pleased with overall facility. Reception is top quality. Would be happier with shorter wait before appointments for ortho treatment. 7 weeks seem excessive, and other dentists have said shorter times would be best. Contact with orthodonist Melanie W is very limited, seems assistants do everything with very little imput of advertised specialist Ortho.

On the day of my appt the receptionist didn't seem to be handling the front as well, as I have experienced. She was not friendly and seemed preoccupied. It is a shame when this happens as she/he is the first impression of the entire experience of a particular business/professional setting.

I think it would be great if there is a note on our information for the receptionist that says what hours do not work for us, so when we are being booked unless we specifically request that time, automatically it would show times that are not within the hours that do not work for us. I think it would make things easier for both the receptionist and the customer.

The only issue I had was at the end when I was paying. The person overcharged me and I had to question the charge. She asked someone else and realized she had charged me for the more expensive procedure. She should have gotten her facts straight first. If not for my dentist telling me how much the treatment was before I agreed to it, I wouldn't have realized that the charges didn't add up. Again, not a huge deal because I'm pretty easygoing, but I was a little irritated.

I initially heard about this office from my co-workers, it was nice to see first-hand that all the praise was rightfully deserved. The entire dental team made me feel as if they really did have my best interests in mind when creating my treatment plan. The pricing and benefits received were excellent. It is refreshing to know there are still dental offices out there that treat their patients like real people, not just dollar signs :) I will definitely refer this office to my friends and family!

My family has been bouncing around to dentist offices for years. Either they are unfriendly, not clean or will not provide the services covered on my insurance. I cannot beleive how wonderful my visit was to South 'O dental group. I came to work and went on and on about how great it was. I came home that night and did the same with my family. As my mother was a RDH and did all my dental work before. I would rate this as an office that she would have been very comfortable in both as a patient and to work. As she is no longer with us I feel that I have made a really good choise to replace her.

I am very disappointed to have scheduled the afternoon off from my job & then to receive a call a few hours before my appointment informing me my dentist would not be available until Monday. I absolutely understand there was an emergency but it would be nice to have your office realize people are spending a lot of money on top of taking time off of work. Having an alternate Dentist available to help when your staff has emergencies would be fantastic. Otherwise no complaints - friendly staff & clean office.

overall everyone was very friendly and did a good job, but the hygienist who flossed my teeth was quite rough. It was really painful, and I floss everyday so I know it shouldn't have been that bad. Otherwise she was very friendly and all other procedures were fine. My only other "complaint" is that the dentist never told me anything before she left. When I left, the hygienist asked if everything was okay with my teeth (like no cavities, etc.), and I didn't know what to say because the dentist never said anything.

Great staff, great dentist. Like most dental/medical offices there is no respect for the patient's time. I usually spend 3/4 hr reading magazines. Like other offices, the concept of an appointment is only meaningfull to the office. Why is it that your time is more important than my time?

Payment at the end was frustrating as it was assumed that I was going to pay in full, when I was never asked and never said so. I had checked the box about wanting info on payment. I had to ask a couple of times about the total. I am still frustrated about the root canal business. Concerned mainly about cost. I need my teeth fixed but do not have unlimited resources.

The only thing that was a negative is your health history questionaire. Epilepsy is not a mental health issue and I can't understand why it is categorized with schizophrenia, autism, depression and the like.

I felt extremley comfortable from the moment I walked in. The receptionist recognized me from 2 weeks prior and it was really comforting that someone cared that much to greet me by name as I walked in. Overall I am very happy with South oceanside dental group. The professionalism from all the staff makes coming to the dentist that much easier (seeing as how I absolitly dislike the dentist). I will deffiently come back for the rest of my dental needs. I also would like to say that the payment plans you offer make it so much easier for someone like myself to stay up on my dental hygeine. I came into the office with a bad case of white coat syndrome and left feeling very relaxed even though I was there for 6 hours. ( My fault there) Everyone from the xray tech to the Dentist was so nice. That helps so much when you have an actual fear of Doctors.
