The Pacific Dental Services® Foundation mobile dental clinic visits
The Samaritan Center of Simi Valley
Since 1994, The Samaritan Center of Simi Valley has been serving homeless individuals. Through outreach programs provided at the center, guests have access to public mental health services, job recruitment, veterans’ services, and more. The Samaritan Center’s goal is to support the homeless in becoming productive members of the community.
The insecurities of living without a home and the contributing situations can leave people feeling alone and hopeless. The Samaritan Center is a place where individuals and families can receive immediate assistance and support needed in order to take the steps necessary to move out of homelessness. The Center’s greatest strength is their personal contact with each and every individual. By assessing his or her needs and networking with other social service agencies Samaritan Center is able to meet each client’s unique needs.
On Saturday, February 24th, the Pacific Dental Services® Foundation mobile dental clinic set up in the Samaritan Center’s parking lot to address the dental needs of the center’s clients. The Foundation, in collaboration with Dr. Katayoun Setareh of First Street Dental Group and Orthodontics in Simi Valley and 25 other Smile Generation®-trusted volunteers, provided 0,000 in donated dental care.
Steve, a client of the Samaritan Center, was one of 46 people who received free care. A broken front tooth led Steve, a man who smiles a lot, to constantly hold his hand in front of his mouth. His smile and self-confidence were suffering because of this tooth. In just one day, Dr. Jed Huss of Moorpark Dental Group and Orthodontics was able to provide Steve with a brand new CEREC® crown and a new lease on life. Now Steve can smile confidently during job interviews!
