The Gift of Time

Time, it's our most precious resource. No matter what we do we can't find any more of it. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, young or old, we can never find enough time. Most of us get to have a say in how we spend our time. Time spent with the ones we love making memories or time spent at work making a difference in the world around us or just simply making a living.
Individuals living in Ethiopia face a challenge that we simply can't relate to. They spend countless hours on a task we simply take for granted: walking for hours to get water. For a large percentage of people, that water is dirty and makes them sick. The average time women and children spend on the journey for water is three hours. They make this journey two to three times a day.
In giving them access to clean safe drinking water, we provide a gift that helps in so many ways. We provide the gift of health. They are no longer drinking water that makes them sick, which ultimately makes them healthier and happier.
Water also gives them the gift of time. Imagine getting six to nine hours back in your day. With this time back in their day, children can get an education. Women can provide more care to their family, make a living, or even find a hobby. In adding more time to their day, they're adding more joy to their lives.
Help us this year to provide the gift of health, the gift of water. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of others.
